THE COMPANY

The InnovaHub is the innovation company of the Guatemalan Sugar Agroindustry, organized within the management of Asazgua (Association Azucarera de Guatemala), formed in the year of 2020, the mills that make up the eight most important in the country: Pantaleon, La Union, Magdalena, San Diego, Palo Gordo, Santa Ana, Mother Earth and The pillar; with the aim of developing innovations for Agribusiness and others productive sectors, for other countries and other agricultural crops primarily. Has separate identity from the sugar industry.

WHAT PROCESSES OF THE INNOVATION SYSTEM WILL BE IMPLEMENTED:

  • Integration of the design team from the Azasgua Hub.

proceeded to join the design team InnovaHub, with members of the mills and key companies of the Asazgua corporate, such as ICC (Institute of Climate Change) and Cengicaña (Research and Development of Cane Varieties).For this, the profile of people who were required, the time involved in the project, etc.

purpose and vision of innovation, strategic areas of innovation (drivers) and their respective expected future outcomes, main measures of impact of expected innovation and determining the scope of the innovation. the five drivers defined were: sustainability, optimization, competitiveness of the sector, acceleration ecosystem and development of personnel, technology and infrastructure.

What processes of the innovation system were implemented

Establishment of the system of innovation governance,

including the executive committee of the InnovaHub, the management office of innovation, the teams of innovation design and execution

and staff participation in the innovation process.

Operational design of the InnovaHub for its implementation including:

structure, roles and functions, salary structure, policy intellectual property etc

Development of a plan of communication and deployment culture of innovation, including

communication and reinforcement the culture of innovation and promotional activities labor force participation. This includes certification of agribusiness people like Professionals in Innovation, certified by the world entity the IMSP (Innovation Management System Professionals).

Strengthening of team competitions of innovation,

through HR departments of the Wits, using for it the ©PCAinnovation model of innovation skills, analyze results, provide feedback and support in design of a closure plan skills gaps for innovation teams.

  • Market launch of the sugar industry of the agricultural intelligence projects and digital twins for traceability Logistics. development of new projects as use of technology for the control of criminal burnings, micro agriculture stations 4.0, among others.
  • Attraction of investors in Guatemala as the largest plant in the world in sustainable packaging.
